Some days ago the government has rejected the demand to restore the Juma holiday and said that there was no fact in Qur’aan and Hadith about the Juma Holiday. Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said that Juma is a weekly Eid for the Muslim Ummah. Here a question arises, that when the government is performing annual Basant etc or other musical functions like non-Islamic programmes what are the fact of these things in Islamic history.

All Pakistanis know that the foreigners who have settled in tribal belt bordering Afghanistan are Muslims and they hail from Muslim countries. We also know that they came to Pakistan as mujahideen (freedom fighters) on the invitation of military government of that time and at the behest of USA to help Afghans and Pakistan Army in the proxy war for USA against its only rival super power.

We do remember VOA, BBC and other western news media along with Radio Pakistan and PTV very eloquently calling these Muslims as mujahideen and bestowing praise upon them day and night. We also remember that USA got rid of Zia-ul-Haque and started terming these Muslim mujahideen as terrorists after achieving their goal i.e., dismemberment of USSR and destruction of rival super power.

After Afghan Jihad was over, the Muslim countries of the Middle East and Africa under instructions from USA refused to allow their nationals to go home. Due to compulsion these Muslims opted to settle here. They have got married here, they have got their children living with them and they are now the citizens of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Lately our military government having got scared from Mr. Bush has ordered Muslim soldiers of the Army to kill or capture these Muslims settlers for handing over to USA because they have been labelled as terrorists, by USA.

Now a word about the Jews. A lot of senior journalists have quoted that the Israeli doors are officially open for any Jews living in any part of the world from whatever time to come to Israel for permanent settlement if they wish and the Israeli government would provide home, land and job to such immigrants.

If we are so afraid of USA the least we should do is to move these poor Muslims to some other part of the country for fresh settlement like we have done for the affectees of Mangla dam and Tarbela dam rather than to kill them or getting the Army jawans killed in return. If we cannot follow Islamic teachings we could at least learn from Jews how to take care of the brethren.
